Mereren Fest 2025: Kites, Music, Food & Community Spirit
Pererenan welcomes a brand-new cultural festival this August as Mereren Fest takes flight across the neighbourhood. Running from 22 to 24 August 2025, the three-day celebration blends music, art, food and the sky-high traditions of Bali’s iconic kites. The event marks the grand opening of Noema Resort Pererenan.
Friday, 22 August
The festivities begin at Menika, Noema’s rooftop venue, with a ticketed night of live performances featuring Ali, Batavia Collective, Bottlesmoker, Kataraga by Putu Widatama, and Paradise Under the Sun. The evening also unveils Kites, a photography exhibition by German photographer Wolfgang Beick, capturing the poetry of flight across cultures.
Saturday, 23 August
The celebration spills into the streets with a Kite Procession from Noema to Pererenan Beach, led by the spectacular Kite Chandelier and accompanied by the Baleganjur rhythms of Desa Pererenan. At the beach, Bumi Bajra presents a powerful dance performance, followed by a colourful Kites Parade featuring traditional kite masters, Kadek Armika, and the Museum Layang-Layang Indonesia. Culinary stalls curated by Paparempa complete the seaside gathering. Free entry.
Sunday, 24 August
The festival culminates with a lively Kite Competition hosted by Desa Pererenan, accompanied by music from Munir and Bali’s beloved reggae legends Joni Agung & Double T. Free and open to all.
With kites above, music all around, and community at its heart, Mereren Fest invites everyone to drift into Pererenan’s creative spirit.
