Symphony of Indonesia 2026 Edition

This Independence Day, The Meru Sanur and Bali Beach Hotel, The Heritage Collection, in collaboration with The Sanur, invite guests to experience the spirit of Indonesia through two days of music, culture and community at Symphony of Indonesia, taking place from 16-17 August 2026 along the serene coastline of Sanur.

Created as a celebration of Indonesia’s cultural heritage and national pride, the annual event brings together traditional customs, contemporary creativity and meaningful community initiatives. Inspired by the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana – harmony between people, nature and culture – Symphony of Indonesia offers a thoughtful way to mark the nation’s independence while celebrating the character of Sanur.

The highlight comes on the morning of 17 August with the return of Surya Sewana Sunrise Jazz, led by acclaimed Indonesian jazz maestro Indra Lesmana. Set against Sanur’s sunrise coastline, the performance blends contemporary jazz with traditional elements, creating a soulful soundtrack to the first light of day.

The morning continues with a commemorative flag ceremony involving elementary school students from Sanur, followed by traditional Indonesian games, a community medical check-up and outreach activities for children from Yayasan Kanker Anak Indonesia and Dharma Jati Orphanage. Young guests can also discover Indonesia’s storytelling traditions through DIY Wayang puppet-making, storytelling sessions and cookie decorating, combining creativity with cultural learning.

The celebration extends to the dining table, with Peken Senggol Brunch at Arunika Restaurant on 16 August, priced at IDR 650,000++ per person, and Bali Beach Cultural Night at Bali Beach Bar & Grill on 17 August, priced at IDR 600,000++ per person. Expect Indonesian flavours, cultural performances and a festive atmosphere by the sea.
