Nestled on Kedewatan’s scenic hillside amidst verdant rice fields, the newly opened Satyanara is a sanctuary for contemporary art, cultural exchange, and creative ideas in Ubud. As an integrated art centre, Satyanara connects art, cultures, knowledge, ideas, and communities across Asia.
Designed for visitors of all levels of artistic interest, Satyanara presents a variety of interactive programmes throughout the year, including professional development sessions, discussions, workshops, film screenings, and performances. The art centre features three galleries, an amphitheatre, workshop spaces, studios, artist residencies, a café, and a retail area. More than just an art centre, Satyanara provides a space for artists and contemporary art communities in Bali to conduct research, build professional networks, and expand their access to the art market.

To mark its opening, Satyanara presents three exhibitions that reflect its commitment to exploring art through the interconnected themes of history, identity, culture, the environment, and local life. Running from 22 October 2026 to 24 January 2027, Ubud Art Ground #2: Letters to Colour explores the use of colour in Indonesian art, from traditional to contemporary practices, with Hendra Wijayanto contributing to the exhibition’s curatorial text.
Curated by Mella Jaarsma and Yipei Lee, Fluid Kinship explores how cultural landscapes shaped history, geography, ethnocultural contexts, ecology, food systems, and human movement. Running from 22 October 2026 to 30 April 2027, this exhibition brings together perspectives from Iran, India, Indonesia, England, Italy, and Taiwan.
The third exhibition, A Brush Between Worlds, runs from 22 October 2026 to 30 September 2027. It traces the history of Chinese calligraphy and presents paintings and seal carvings from the personal collection of the late Professor Chou Chen.

Operating under Yayasan Satya Djaya Raya (YSDR), Satyanara welcomes everyone, including families, community groups, and students, to participate in its diverse artistic and cultural activities. All areas are wheelchair accessible. The centre is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM. Admission is priced at IDR 30,000 per person for Balinese residents, IDR 75,000 for Indonesian citizens, and IDR 120,000 for international visitors.
