Ubud is set to welcome a new chapter in luxury lifestyle hospitality with the arrival of Kimpton Suntaya Bali Ubud, marking IHG Hotels & Resorts’ first Kimpton property in Indonesia. Set along Jalan Bisma, the 101-key hotel is designed to capture the creative spirit and cultural rhythm of its surroundings.
Its name, Suntaya, reflects the balance at the heart of the concept, inspired by Sanskrit roots associated with stillness and vitality. Designed by Denton Corker Marshall with interiors by Threaded Creatives, the hotel follows Ubud’s natural contours, drawing inspiration from Balinese ceremonial processions and their sense of movement and community. Natural timber, locally sourced stone, handmade tiles, handcrafted details and curated Balinese art create a cohesive design rooted in the island’s craft and creative culture.

Kimpton Suntaya Bali Ubud will feature five dining destinations, two led by Michelin-starred Chef Hirofumi Imamura, including Imamura Ubud, an intimate omakase restaurant, and Shaku by Imamura, offering a refined take on Japanese izakaya dining. Wellness also takes centre stage, with a two-storey fitness studio named The Movement Lab, recovery facilities and contrast-therapy experiences, complemented by Sakshi, the resort’s spa offering Balinese-inspired treatments.
Guests can expect Kimpton signatures including the complimentary “Forgot It, We’ve Got It!” programme, inspiring conversation with other guests and the hotel’s management through Kimpton Morning Kickstart, and the convivial Kimpton Social.

Led by General Manager Austin Jones, who has contributed to nearly a dozen Kimpton properties, Kimpton Suntaya Bali Ubud is poised to become a new gathering place where travellers and locals can experience Ubud through a distinctly contemporary lens.
