3rd Bali Ocean Days Conference & Showcase
Bali Ocean Days will return for its third edition on 30–31 January 2026, reaffirming its position as a growing international platform dedicated to marine conservation and ocean protection. Held at the InterContinental Bali Resort, Jimbaran Convention Center, the two-day conference comes at a critical moment for global environmental action.
Organised by the Sky Blue Sea (SBS) Foundation and the Bali Ocean Days Committee, the 2026 edition continues to address what is increasingly referred to as the Triple Planetary Crisis: climate change, biodiversity loss, and environmental pollution. Building on the momentum of its 2024 and 2025 editions, Bali Ocean Days places the ocean at the centre of these intersecting challenges, highlighting its vital role in planetary health, livelihoods, and economic resilience.
The conference will feature six high-level sessions, alongside an eco-showcase exhibition, a business matchmaking side event, and the SBS Foundation Awards Ceremony. Participants include senior government officials, financial institutions, impact investors, entrepreneurs, NGOs, academics, and ocean advocates from across the region and beyond.

The opening day is expected to be inaugurated by H.E. Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, Indonesia’s Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, with Ms. Ni Luh Puspa, Vice Minister of Tourism, among the featured speakers. Early sessions will focus on public policy and ocean strategies from archipelagic and island nations, with anticipated contributions from ministers and envoys representing Fiji, Papua New Guinea, and Seychelles.
Subsequent sessions will explore coral reef preservation, marine biodiversity, and the role of responsible ecotourism, as well as the empowerment of coastal communities as frontline stewards of marine ecosystems. The second day will turn to advances in ocean science and marine technology, followed by discussions on overfishing and industrial extraction, before concluding with a dedicated focus on plastic pollution and scalable solutions.
A business matchmaking side event supported by the GIZ SEA-MaP programme will complement the final session, connecting innovators and investors working on plastic pollution mitigation. The showcase exhibition will highlight startups, SMEs, and NGOs active in the circular economy, waste management, renewable energy, and conservation.
The event will culminate with the SBS Foundation Awards Ceremony, honouring Sir David Attenborough for his lifetime contribution to marine conservation awareness. Excerpts from Ocean with David Attenborough will be screened, with the Trophy of Honor accepted on his behalf by producer and director Toby Nowlan.
Bali Ocean Days 2026 will be moderated by a panel of media, sustainability, and advocacy figures, underscoring the event’s collaborative and cross-sector approach. As an annual initiative, Bali Ocean Days continues to position Bali as a meeting point for ideas, leadership, and practical action in ocean conservation.
