Eco Tourism Week 2025: Celebrating Sustainable Innovation and Global Recognition for Bali
On Wednesday, 28 May 2025, the third annual Eco Tourism Week forum will take place at The Meru Sanur, highlighting the island’s sustainable tourism practices and related businesses.
Eco Tourism Week is an initiative started by Eco Tourism Bali (ETB), an independent organisation committed to advancing and verifying sustainable tourism practices, and the the first and only sustainability verification company in Indonesia officially listed in the Travalyst compliance directory.
The 2025 edition of Eco Tourism Week, held at The Meru Sanur, anticipates over 300 participants, featuring a B2B exhibition of 50 sustainable solutions tailored for the hospitality sector. The program includes three expert-led panel discussions and 10 presentations by pioneering sustainable businesses.
During the forum, attendees will vote for the Most Impactful and Most Innovative Solution of the Year, whilst ETB will also award 21 hotels and restaurants that have successfully undergone Eco Climate Badge Verification in the last calendar year, reflecting their commitment to sustainable transformation.
A unique highlight of ETW 2025 will be an art exhibition by Ririn Yaxley (Kita Bisa), showcasing striking installations made entirely from hospitality industry waste—an evocative reminder of the urgent need for creative sustainability.
“As we enter our fourth year, we’re proud to be globally affiliated and recognised among 60 sustainability certification bodies worldwide,” said Rahmi and Suzy, Co-Founders of EcoTourism Bali. “This milestone means we can now amplify local solutions on an international stage, positioning Bali as a model for eco-conscious travel.”
