Road to Jia CURATED: A Collaborative Design Exhibition

An immersive exhibition is on display, ahead of the highly-anticipated ‘Jia CURATED’ design event taking place in August. Located in the showroom of Ong Cen Kuang, the ‘Road to Jia CURATED’ exhibition features a special collection of art and interiors made by six creatives in collaboration with Threadapeutic.

For Road to Jia CURATED, six creatives have been invited to reimagine discarded textiles through their own lenses, each bringing a very distinct perspective. The six creatives include Budiman Ong, Design by Weld, Irene Febry, Margareta Miranti and Sashia Rosari, Studio Hendro Hadinata. However, in the spirit of Indonesia’s culture of ‘mutual cooperation’, or gotong royong, the artists also collaborated with Threadapeutic, a studio founded by Hana Surya, renowned for their work redefining how discarded fabrics and textiles are used, creating beautiful new forms of the materials.

From bespoke furniture to hanging installations, Threadapeutic’s one-of-a-kind material, discarded textiles and of course the distinct flair of each creative all come together in wondrous new forms, spread out beautifully on display in the OCK showroom in Sempidi.

This creative exercise draws attention to Jia CURATED 2025’s theme, ‘Evolving Perspectives’, inviting participants to shift their perspectives through the guise of creativity and curiosity. This ability to completely transform ‘waste’, i.e. discarded textiles, into a variety of premium art and design pieces makes one reconsider notions of value and material. This theme shine through in the four-day event from 14-18 August 2025 at Bali Festival Park in Sanur.

The ‘Road to JIA Curated’ exhibition will be open until 30 July 2025, before it will be moved to the main event in Sanur. The exhibition is open for public from 9am to 5pm.
