After announcing the Top 10 bartenders who made it to the next round in Jakarta and Bali last March, Diageo World Class, the industry’s most prestigious and respected bartending competition welcomes the semi finals stage of the competition. Ten bartenders from Bali competed in La Favela Seminyak for a chance to be sent to Thailand for the South East Asia Finals. After a few innovative challenges that tested their skills, product knowledge, customer interaction and creativity, two bartenders made it to the next stage, they are I GustiSalit Made Ari Naryana from Woo Bar at W Retreat & Spa Bali and Ayip Muhammad Dzuhri from Sofitel Nusa Dua.
During the semi finals competition, the bartenders were given two challenges. First one is the Multi- sensory Serve in which the bartenders were challenged to use color, sound, aroma, and visuals to influence how people perceive the cocktail flavor. The second challenge was the Raw Food Pairing in which the bartenders were challenged to create a cocktail to be paired with a raw food dish.
