Mandapa offers a sanctuary in Ubud along the Ayung River and surrounded by greenery, where wellness is closely connected to nature, culture, and healing wisdom. Its Disconnect to Reconnect initiative encourages guests to step back from everyday bustle to renew themselves.
Designed to inspire presence and balance, the programme brings together yoga, meditation, water therapy, sound healing, sleep-focused practices, and traditional Balinese rituals. Rather than approaching wellness as a single treatment, Mandapa creates a more immersive journey in which physical relaxation, mental clarity, and cultural discovery become part of the same experience.
Among the offerings is Watsu, a gentle combination of water therapy and Shiatsu performed in a warm pool. Guests are supported as they float through the water while receiving gentle stretches and pressure-point techniques. For those seeking deeper rest, Sleep Therapy explores practices such as aromatherapy, sound therapy, and guided relaxation, encouraging guests to develop rituals for better rest during and beyond their stay.

Mandapa’s wellness journey is also heavily influenced by Balinese spirituality. Homa Yajna, or the Fire Blessing Ritual, draws on ancient Vedic traditions and uses meditation, chanting and ceremonial offerings around a sacred fire. Guests are invited to reflect on habits, beliefs and intentions as part of a symbolic process of letting go and beginning anew.
Another traditional experience is Melukat Geni, which coalesces the cleansing symbolism of holy water, or Tirta, and the purifying energy of fire, or Geni. Guided by a trained healer or Pemangku, the ritual provides a culturally rooted experience centred on release, renewal and spiritual balance.
Meditation and sound form an important part of the programme. Vipassana encourages guests to cultivate mindfulness through awareness of breath and bodily sensations, while Gong Bath Therapy uses the resonant vibrations of gongs to create a meditative environment.

Moreover, Mandapa distinctly offers a connection with indigenous healers. Among the practitioners at Mandapa Spa is Ibu Ketut Mursi, a visually impaired healer known for her intuitive approach to bodywork and reflexology. Working alongside her assistant, Ibu Kis, she offers a unique Healing for Awareness (Eling) experience through Prana Kombini Massage, focusing on gentle bodywork intended to support the body’s pathways and encourage a sense of balance.
These experiences form part of Mandapa’s wider approach to holistic hospitality, where disconnecting is an invitation to listen, slow down, experience, reflect and become more present. Located in what is regarded as Bali’s cultural and spiritual heart, the Disconnect to Reconnect programme offers a way to retreat and then return to everyday life with renewed balance.
