Ubud Village Jazz Festival 2025
Prepare for a weekend of music and magic with the return of the Ubud Village Jazz Festival 2025 (UVJF) on 1 & 2 August 2025. Renowned jazz musicians, both Indonesian and international, will take to the stage on the grounds of Sthala, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Ubud Bali.
The origins of UVJF are traced back to small jazz concerts and jam sessions between musicians Yuri Mahatma and Anom Darsana. Their vision was to create an international jazz festival in Bali run by local talents but welcoming a global community of performers. The festival began in 2013 and has since grown and evolved every year since its inception – this is a music event made for jazz lovers, by jazz lovers!
This year, UVJF will have two stages, set up on the verdant banks of the Wos River, bringing a jazz experience into a stunning Ubud forest setting. This is a true Bali experience, with picnic mats laid out at the front of the stage, and beanbags spread across the terracing valley like a natural amphitheatre. A cosy setting complemented by professional stage design and audio production.
The diversity of jazz genres will all be represented, from big band groups and full jazz orchestras, to classic quartets and solo jazz singers. As for headliners and international performers, UVJF Co-founder, Yuri Mahatma, shares some of the highlight musicians: “Among them is Makoto Kuriya from Japan, a renowned jazz pianist in the Japanese jazz scene, who will collaborate with Balinese jazz musicians. Then we have ROUGE from France, as well as musicians from Vietnam, Serbia, Germany, Russia, and the Czech Republic—and of course, the incredible jazz artists from Bali,” he added. One of Bali’s own legends, Balawan, will be performing with his unique musical fusion concept with ‘Balawan Duo’ as well this year.
Outside the music itself, the festival grounds come to life through its beautiful venue design, always artistic and natural, with more than 30 food and beverage booths to browse.
Finally, as part of the Ubud Village Jazz Festival 2025, there will be many lead-up events and post-festival events happening across Bali, including: The Apurva Kempinski Bali (Nusa Dua), The Meru Sanur, Bumi Kinar Ubud, Samasta Lifestyle Village (Jimbaran) and DeBeat.
