Fitness and health aren’t the same thing – but they are closely related. You can be healthy without being fit, but you can’t be fit without being healthy! There are a lot of people who, for the moment are healthy but don’t do exercise, but this won’t last long. The heart needs to be exercised, the arms and legs need stretched and challenged. The whole metabolism stagnates without exercise.

We feel sorry for people who are ill, for those who are overweight, for those who are suffering, but how much of this is self-inflicted ? People say ‘I don’t have time to exercise ‘or’ I can’t afford to go to a gym. Sorry but there is no excuse. Walking is free, push-ups, and sit-ups and squats are free – anytime, anywhere. If you can do fifty push-ups, sit-ups and squats every day and walk for just 30 minutes you will see an improvement in your whole physique (and mental health as well) in just two weeks, certainly a month.

Yes I know there are things we can’t control : cancer, diabetes, dengue, etc, but there are so many things we can. But did you know that according to clinical psychologist Jordan Peterson, we tend to look after others more then we look after ourselves, even to the point of not taking prescribed medication! ( In fact he says we look after our pets more than ourselves!) So stop now please and think: can I improve my fitness and therefore my health ? I can tell you the answer is ‘yes’ so get started today. And improving fitness also improves your lifestyle, your everyday enjoyment, your looks as well as probably extending your life as well.  Why wouldn’t you do this right now? Get fit for your life!
