This year’s Jazz Market runs under the motto ‘Clothing The Nation’. It will take people back to the roots of Indonesia´s fashionable heritage and encompass its identity as a nation. As clothing and textiles are a core part of the cultural fabric throughout the Indonesian archipelago, the festival visitors will celebrate this key part of the nation’s identity. Patrons will certainly see the diversity of Indonesian textiles, clothing, and the evolution of customs. It will include traditional and modern styles, through fashion shows for young designer labels, parades of cultural costumes, classes for Batik making, weaving, as well as educational textiles and fashion related workshops. Jazz Market 2016 carries a mission to showcase the stories and the unique process of these textiles, with the help of the experts, Ibu Tya Adhitama and Ibu Amalia Irman from CEVA Bali, a design company, specify their creation of home décor in traditional textiles.
